Readings, Myspace Outage? Really People

The Myspace article (despite being a jab at myspace addicts) goes to show how helplessly addicted people are to the internet and the need to be connected. Are people that desperately in need of connection that they forget that living human beings still exist and that he or she does not need to appear hopeless and only talk to weird strangers online and hope that 1000 friends online constitutes as a real friendship in person doing actual physical activities? If there ever was a technological disaster I am sure I could survive a full day of talking to physical people instead of virtual folk. Don't get me wrong, the internet is a great way to keep connected with people....people you have met or hope to meet in person. I love to use Facebook to talk to certain friends on a daily basis yet I do not use the computer as my only personal friendship skill.
